“SAFE” in the Hands of Jesus”

Understanding His Plan… The Rapture ~ Part 1

In presenting this blog to my readers on the Rapture and the Tribulation, I want you to know it is not meant to frighten you, but to provide clarity, comfort, and reassurance to believers. The Scriptures are clear: this world is passing, broken, and groans under sin. Yet in the midst of all this, we have hope…Hope in Jesus Christ.

I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Comfort, Hope, and the Gospel in Uncertain Times

Today, I want to speak to you with the comfort of God’s Word and the seriousness of the Gospel. I know that many of us look around at the world and feel fear, heaviness, or despair. We see wars, natural disasters, moral decay, and injustice everywhere. It’s as if the signs are telling us that “Tribulation” is on the horizon. If we don’t have a solid understanding of Jesus’ love for his church. It can feel both scary and overwhelming.

The world suffers because of sin, and my heart breaks for those who do not yet know the Lord. As I share this study I’ve made, I pray the love of Christ shines through, not only for you, His children, but also for those still wandering without Him. The Bible is clear that Jesus is the only Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. He is not one of many ways; He is the Way. He is the Truth. He is Life itself. Those who believe in Him will not perish, but those who reject Him remain separated from God. This reality is sobering, yet it is offered with love, not condemnation, because God desires all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth.

That said, we must also consider the reality of what exactly separation from God is, which Scripture presents with care and gravity. Rejecting Jesus Christ and His salvation has eternal consequences, and it is not merely darkness or absence, but a true separation from the love, presence, and life of God Himself. Jesus describes judgment in sobering terms: the fires of hell, the torment of the unrepentant, and the eternal consequence of rejecting the only Way (Matthew 25:41–46, Revelation 14:10–11, Mark 9:43–48). This is not meant to frighten us, but to awaken our hearts to the seriousness of sin and the urgency of the Gospel.

God’s gift of salvation is life itself, totally free of the torments described by Jesus for those who don’t believe. As believers, we can rest in the comfort that we are held securely in Christ’s hands, protected from wrath, and safe in His presence, while also holding a burden in our hearts for those who do not yet know Him, praying and sharing the Gospel with love, compassion, and urgency.

Jesus Christ is fully God, and He is the Lamb who opens the seals in Revelation. He acts with perfect justice and perfect love. He is not only the righteous judge of the world, but also the Bridegroom of His Church. He loves His Bride, He cares for her, and He will protect her from harm. Ephesians tells us that Christ loves the Church, sanctifies her, and presents her to Himself without spot or blemish. Because of our belief in Him, we are covered by His blood and made white as snow. Because of this, for me, the Pre-Tribulation Rapture makes sense: Christ will not allow His Bride to be in the midst of the devastating judgments of the unbelieving world. How can the opening of the 1st 4 seals not be the wrath of God? One third of the population of the earth is dead!

Scripture repeatedly reminds us of God’s care for His people. We are not appointed to wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9), and Revelation 3:10 assures us that God will keep His people from the hour of trial that is coming on the earth. Even as judgments unfold, His promises remain unbroken. The Church is safe, secure, and held in His hands. We are never abandoned, and the Holy Spirit, who lives in each believer, is our guide, comforter, and protector. I believe the Holy Spirit is removed before Tribulation

Yet while we rejoice in the Church’s safety, we cannot ignore the reality of the world. Many who sit in pews, hear sermons, or call themselves Christians may not truly belong to Him. This study also reminds us of the urgency of the Gospel. Our hearts break for those who have rejected Him, and our prayers must be fervent, knowing that the God who judges also provides the Way of escape. This understanding leads to hope, courage, and compassionate action, not fear.

As we examine the sequence of events described in Scripture — from the Church Age to the opening of the seals, the rise of the 144,000 from the tribes of Israel, the judgments of the Tribulation, and the Second Coming, it is my goal to help you see how God’s plan is orderly, loving, and protective of His Bride. I believe the Church will be removed before the Tribulation begins, ensuring we are not subjected to the wrath that falls upon the world. Revelation 4 and 5 describe believers in heaven, worshiping the Lamb and the 24 elders, illustrating the safety, honor, and joy that await us.

I also want to emphasize that while this study focuses on the Church, our concern and love extend to the world. God desires all to be saved, yet many will reject Him, and the Scriptures are clear about the consequences of that rejection.

As we move into the detailed comparison of the different Rapture views, remember that this study is ultimately about God’s character: His justice, mercy, love, and faithfulness. Christ, the Lamb, is fully God. He opens the seals, orchestrates history, and ensures His Bride is safe. Whatever unfolds on the earth, we can stand firm, rest in Him, trust His promises, and be motivated to share the Gospel with urgency and love.

I pray that this study strengthens your faith, deepens your love for the lost, and encourages you with the certainty that Christ holds His Church in His hands. May you finish reading this with peace in your heart, confidence in God’s promises, and a renewed desire to live as His witness in the world.

My blog in regard to the Rapture continues with the detailed presentation of the different Rapture ideas, including comparison tables, key tensions, and a summary of my personal viewpoint. This also includes my personal note:

Key Observations

  1. Pre-Tribulation uniquely aligns with Rev 3:10 and 1 Thess 5:9 regarding protection from wrath.
  2. 24 elders and great multitude imagery in Revelation supports church in heaven before tribulation.
  3. Israel-focused events (144,000) occur in all views; difference is timing of church removal.
  4. Mid-Trib, Pre-Wrath, and Post-Trib require interpretive assumptions about timing and protection. (THE CHURCH IS NEVER MENTIONED IN REV 4 UNTIL JOHN IS TOLD TO TAKE THIS MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH)

By Grace ~ DLM

Jesus is first in my life, and because of Him, my life in this world is bearable. I want every day to bring Him glory, and I watch and pray for His return. I love sharing the Kingdom of God with anyone who will listen (Matthew 28:19–20), because time is short and Jesus will call His people home before the coming Tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; Revelation 3:10). I cherish God’s creation—people, animals, birds, trees (I’m a tree hugger!), flowers (roses are my favorite), snow, rain, wind, and sunshine (Genesis 1:31; Psalm 19:1). Scripture reminds us that the earth will one day be renewed (2 Peter 3:10–13; Revelation 21:1), so I strive to care for it until He calls us to meet Him in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). I’m grateful to live in a country with freedom of speech and faith, and I seek God’s wisdom in everything I share.
